FRANKFURT/MAIN.

Members of the radical climate protection group “Uprising of the Last Generation” blocked roads in Frankfurt on Tuesday morning, as they did the day before. In a total of nine places, they occupied roadways in the Main metropolis and partially stuck, reported the Hessenschau. Among other things, the A66 and Theodor-Heuss-Allee at the fair are affected.
The police were able to clear the first lanes after about an hour. The blockers are being investigated for coercion.

The press spokeswoman of the “last generation”, Carla Hinrichs, accused the Federal Government in a video on Twitter of playing with the lives of the 1,000 future generations. She called for further action to persuade politicians to phase out fossil fuels.

After the blockers had repeatedly caused traffic disruptions in Berlin in recent weeks and months, Frankfurt is now their destination.
Already on Sunday, supporters of the group had tied themselves to the goalposts during the football match between Eintracht Frankfurt and SC Freiburg. They thus caused a break in the game.
