One in the environmental field was a prioritization of environmental issues back in 2020 by Bjorn Lomborg, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0040162520304157\">Welfare in the 21st century: Increasing development, reducing inequality, the impact of climate change, and the cost of climate policies<\/a>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhat is the world\u2019s deadliest environmental problem?,\u201d asks Bjorn Lomborg. The answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not climate. Outdoor and indoor air pollution. Bill McKibben&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/billmckibben.substack.com\/p\/a-low-point-fd1\">faults<\/a>&nbsp;the&nbsp;<em>New York Times<\/em>&nbsp;and Democrats for throwing in the political towel. \u201cI\u2019m saddened to see how little our representatives in DC seem to really care, even the Democratic ones,\u201d he begins:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Too many Democratic leaders are feeling comfortable waving off climate concerns, because of a feeling that it might be a political problem for them. That was exemplified this morning&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/substack.com\/redirect\/33458f1b-e66a-48e8-abcf-e3f253c7a7fb?j=eyJ1IjoiM2RhZzkifQ.ul7l_Utn13TpphWuK5kgCDY4OQj1pyFjAwLZbx8YABw\">in the New York Times<\/a>&nbsp;when center-right pundit Matt Yglesias issued a strident call for liberals to \u2018support America\u2019s oil and gas industry\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So is the voting public dumb, miscalculating their own self-interest? Or are the alarmists fooling themselves?
