That\u2019s how the Left wants it \u2014 because the revision could tip the scales in environmental extremists\u2019 favor on literally thousands of frivolous climate lawsuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump put it best: The National Academy of Sciences (which helped write the chapter in question) is run by \u201cRadical Left Dumocrats.\u201d Now he\u2019s righting that wrong, and your wallet can breathe a sigh of relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How We Got Here<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Federal Judicial Center (FJC) and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) jointly publish the<em>&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fjc.gov\/content\/396456\/reference-manual-scientific-evidence-fourth-edition\"><em>Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence<\/em>.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Congress established the FJC in 1967 as the research and education arm of the federal courts and made the Chief Justice of the United States \u2014 currently John Roberts \u2014 its chair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This reference manual is used by judges at all levels across America to set rules for evaluating scientific evidence in cases before the court.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A December 2025 revision of the manual tried to sneak unscientific consensus and global warming hysteria into the best practices for judges who must render judgment with varying levels of formal scientific training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/restoration-news.com\/a-quiet-rewrite-that-could-shape-a-thousand-climate-cases\"><em>Restoration News<\/em>&nbsp;sounded the alarm on this issue<\/a>&nbsp;in April 2026, after three prominent scientists sent a letter to Chief Justice John Roberts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why it matters to you:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Your utility bills are on the line.<\/strong>&nbsp;If these 1,000-plus lawsuits succeed, energy producers face massive liability payouts \u2014 costs that get passed straight to you at the electrical meter and the gas pump.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The rules were changed without anyone noticing<\/strong>. A stealthy rewrite in December 2025 swapped courtroom standards from tested evidence to \u201cconsensus,\u201d tilting the field before most Americans even knew the manual existed.
