href=\"https:\/\/rogerpielkejr.substack.com\/p\/rcp85-is-officially-dead\">&nbsp;wrote<\/a>,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cThe Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has just published the next generation of climate scenarios,\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;calling it&nbsp;<strong>\u201cbig news\u201d that \u201celiminated the most extreme scenarios that have dominated climate research over much of the past several submerged coastlines, mass extinctions, widespread crop failures, and global hunger, always around the corner, always demanding immediate, economy-reshaping action to avert a catastrophe that, it now turns out, the underlying science community had assigned to a category closer to science fiction than projection.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>The new IPCC framework
