Is AP short for \u201cAcquired Propaganda\u201d?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLW readers have kept current on the judicial \u201ctraining\u201d machine that the plaintiffs\u2019 bar and its affiliated academics and NGO activists quickly assembled after two 2018 losses in federal court by the climate litigation industry. Background to these \u201ctrainings\u201d\u2014currently a hot topic, first reported here in\u00a0May<\/a>\u00a0and then\u00a0October<\/a>\u00a02021, and\u00a0ever<\/a>\u00a0since<\/a>\u2014has been further illustrated in productions from, in particular, the University of Oregon (see, e.g.,\u00a0here<\/a>), Oregon State University (here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>), and University of Washington (here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>). The latter has just given us yet another \u201cthey are who we thought they were\u201d exhibit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UW Prof. Kristie Ebi was recruited by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine to serve on the outside-reviewer team of NASEM\u2019s \u201cexpedited\u201d and (as GAO pointed out in\u00a0comments<\/a>) activist-laden (\u201cinherently conflicted to the point of absurdity\u201d) NASEM advocacy\u00a0effort<\/a>\u00a0to keep in place the climatistas\u2019 domestic Holy Grail. That is the 2009 Endangerment Finding, which\u00a0we all now know<\/a>\u00a0was pre-cooked by activists who were then set loose in government to advance an agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UW\u2019s unbiased, chin-stroking searcher-of-truths was concurrently working with members of the climate-plaintiffs\u2019 team\u2014from<\/a>\u00a0the group\u00a0known<\/a>\u00a0as the \u201clawyers advising Rockefeller family fund\u201d to activist\/expert witnesses paraded in front of judges recruited to swanky locales to hear (and be swayed by<\/a>) the plaintiffs\u2019 side (and only the plaintiffs\u2019 side) of things,.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Late last year another priority emerged, which was to undermine the Red Team-ing the Endangerment Finding by leading scientists assembled by the Department of Energy, which brought to light original omissions and developments since 2009. This also launched an emergency to counter it with the \u201cobjective,\u201d taxpayer-funded NASEM effort now the subject of,\u00a0inter alia<\/em>,\u00a0congressional<\/a>\u00a0scrutiny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding mostly the former, but reflecting very poorly on the latter as well, are a series of records just obtained by Government Accountability & Oversight that also remind us of the\u00a0advocacy role assumed on these issues<\/a>\u00a0by media outlets, from CNN and CBS which aired and even housed plaintiffs\u2019-team advisers for on-air \u201cclimate\u201d content, to other legacy outlets whose foundations are eating with both hands from activist donor foundations, to the\u00a0clumsier<\/a>\u00a0Associated Press<\/a>\u00a0(Patient Zero in the foundations\u2019 occupation<\/a>\u00a0of purportedly news outlets, even one of the \u201cfact-checkers<\/a>\u201d assembled by Facebook to keep control of the narrative).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AP of course was on its deathbed less than a decade ago when the climate-activist foundations jumped in with millions. Read into that what you will. CLW reads the same thing Ebi lets on to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
