Climate change, El Ni\u00f1o push Earth \u2018beyond its limits\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doyle Rice, USA TODAY<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wmo.int\/news\/media-centre\/earths-climate-swings-increasingly-out-of-balance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">World Meteorological Organization<\/a>\u00a0(WMO) announced on March 23 that the planet\u2019s climate is now \u201cmore out of balance than at any time in observed history.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If El Ni\u00f1o develops as expected, it would likely boost the planet to its warmest year on record, climate scientist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hausfath\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zeke Hausfather<\/a>\u00a0said on X earlier in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The news comes as the WMO\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.un.org\/en\/story\/2026\/03\/1167178\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports dire climate change<\/a>\u00a0data: \u201cThe state of the global climate is in a state of emergency,\u201d said U.N. Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres, in a statement. \u201cPlanet Earth is being pushed beyond its limits.
