The U.S. has formally notified<\/a> the UN that it is withdrawing from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the UN, the U.S. will officially be out of the UNFCCC on February 27, 2027.<\/strong>  A withdrawal takes effect one year after the UN\u2019s receipt of the notification of withdrawal (which in this case was February 27, 2026) or on a later date specified in the notification.
