believe that they base their decisions on solid, verifiable evidence. \u201cEvidence-based decision-making,\u201d they call it. But&nbsp;<strong>what if the decision is made first and then the data is selected, or left uncorrected,<\/strong>&nbsp;in order to support the now politically correct decision? The below&nbsp;<strong>graphs of<\/strong>&nbsp;mean, maximum and minimum temperatures constructed with<strong>&nbsp;data from three Canadian cities<\/strong>\u2014Moncton (on which Hickey&nbsp;<strong>illustrates the step change<\/strong>&nbsp;with red lines), Ottawa and Montreal\u2014are samples of those created by Hickey using ECCC data downloaded on November 11, 2025, data that is the same as that he sent to ECCC researchers as an attachment to his email of June 24, 2021.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" Again, ECCC staff had no reasonable justification.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>With the Canadian government no longer his employer, so&nbsp;<strong>Hickey is now free to tell us<\/strong>&nbsp;all what has been going on behind the scenes. This Hickey did on December 23, 2025, when he&nbsp;<strong>published the blockbuster report<\/strong>&nbsp;\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/correlation-canada.org\/artificial-stepwise-increases-in-temperature-data-canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Artificial stepwise increases in homogenized surface air temperature data invalidate published climate warming claims for Canada<\/a>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dr. Hickey shows that, if you apply\u00a0<strong>ECCC\u2019s trend analysis method to their data<\/strong>, you find\u00a0<strong>an increase of 1.74\u00b0 C<\/strong>\u00a0(which is statistically significant) from 1948 to 2018. And then, he tells us, if you<strong>\u00a0correct for the one-degree step increase in 1998,<\/strong>\u00a0you find<strong>\u00a0only a 0.29\u00b0C rise<\/strong>.
