Nine days ago I warned<\/a> that such junk science would soon be reported. We can\u2019t have people questioning the warming dogma when it\u2019s frigid outside, now can we? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany\u2019s online Frankfurter Rundschau<\/a><\/em> (FR) just published an article titled: \u201cWhy the cold winter is no evidence against warming.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article explains why severe winters in Germany do not contradict global warming. The core argument lies in the distinction between weather (short-term events) and climate (long-term trends). That of course gets ignored by the media when there\u2019s a hot summer day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts, the FR reports, emphasize that a single cold winter is merely a statistical fluctuation, while the global trend points upward. \u201cWeather is what you see outside; climate is the statistics over a long period of time,\u201d the FR reports. \u201cA cold winter does nothing to change the long-term warming trend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A warm Arctic produces cold Europe temperatures?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the Frankfurter Rundschau reports that there are meteorological explanations for extreme cold phases despite global warming: a weakening\u00a0polar vortex<\/strong>, fueled by Arctic warming, that can cause icy polar air to surge further south. \u201cThe Arctic is warming about four times as fast as the rest of the world,\u201d writes the FR \u201cThis disrupts the jet stream and allows cold air masses from the north to penetrate our regions more easily.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
