Ed Miliband wants to spend tens of billions covering our countryside with solar panels.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe someone should tell him they don\u2019t work in winter!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the last month there have been many days when solar output dipped below 10 GWh \u2013 last Thursday it was just 1.37 GWh. That works out at an average of 57 MW<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GB solar capacity is 21 GW, so on Thursday our solar fleet produced at just 0.3% of capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In winter, we use about 900 GWh a day. Miliband wants to triple solar capacity, but three times nothing is still nothing!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No wonder the\u00a0World Bank<\/a>\u00a0says we are the second worst country in the world to install solar farms. Only Ireland was worse!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
