Energy (DOE) is seeking to restore coal plants across America \u201cfor up to $100 million in federal funding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The DOE&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/articles\/energy-department-announces-100-million-restore-americas-coal-plants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>&nbsp;Friday that it issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity to restore coal plants across the U.S. to \u201cdesign, implement, test, and validate three strategic opportunities for refurbishment and retrofit of existing American coal power plants to make them operate more efficiently, reliably, and affordably.\u201d President Donald Trump has sought to bolster the American coal industry through an April 8&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/04\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-reinvigorates-americas-beautiful-clean-coal-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a>, though the Biden administration&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2024\/11\/29\/biden-admin-coal-powder-river-basin-thanksgiving\/\" target=\"_blank\"
