class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It may only be the first week of November, but I believe the award for Headline of the Year 2025 is already as good as won. It will surely be impossible to beat the following contender from&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c9vy191rgn1o\"><em>BBC News<\/em><\/a><em>, published in March.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It read: \u201cAmazon Forest Felled to Build Road for Climate Summit\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Magnificent \u2013 and now topical once more because the climate summit in question is finally about to begin. It\u2019s Cop30, the latest in an annual series of terribly urgent conferences attended by major politicians from all over the globe. And this year, they\u2019re all jetting off to Brazil.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Representing Britain will be Sir Keir Starmer, who must be feeling very worried about the&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2025\/11\/03\/why-starmer-attending-cop-summit-fends-off-hard-left\/\"><em>sudden rise of the Greens under Zack Polanski<\/em><\/a><em>, and&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/politics\/2025\/10\/29\/ed-miliband-will-not-achieve-net-zero-public-believes\/\"><em>Ed Miliband, the Net Zero Secretary.<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;But they\u2019re not alone.
