href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/money\/net-zero\/return-of-the-boiler-tax-40-pounds-labour-heat-pumps\/\"><em>the \u201cboiler tax,\u201d<\/em><\/a><em><strong>&nbsp;which will add an estimated \u00a3100 to the cost of replacing the appliances.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The Government confirmed on Friday that the current quota for heat pumps sold by boiler manufacturers would rise from 6pc to 8pc from April 2026. It means for every 92 boilers sold, manufacturers must sell eight heat pumps. If they fall short, companies face a fine of \u00a3500 per unsold heat pump.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The fines are passed on to customers in the form of higher prices to cover the losses, leading the policy to be dubbed the \u201cboiler tax\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Figures for the UK\u2019s four biggest boiler manufacturers \u2013 Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal and Baxi \u2013 suggest the 8pc target is far above current demand, meaning hefty fines are inevitable.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Adrian Waddelove, of the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council, a trade body, said Mr Miliband\u2019s new boiler tax would add about \u00a3100 to the price of each appliance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Full story&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/2025\/10\/31\/boiler-tax-to-rise-to-100-as-miliband-pushes-heat-pumps\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And you know what?
