class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When news broke that climate.gov was about to go dark in June, Jeffrey Grant scrambled to download as many graphs and data tables from the website as he could. The high school biology teacher had relied heavily on the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) website to teach students about climate change\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cuts go beyond climate.gov to sites explicitly designed for educators, such as the Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network (CLEAN)\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breck Foster, a teacher at Lake Oswego High School in Oregon who weaves climate change into her social studies classes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.science.org\/content\/article\/science-teachers-scramble-u-s-climate-resources-vanish?utm_source=sfmc&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_content=alert&amp;utm_campaign=DailyLatestNews&amp;et_rid=237382256&amp;et_cid=5752678\">Science<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Biology teachers should be teaching biology. NCAR, which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), has so far been able to maintain normal operations and avoid furloughs of its 830 employees. But NCAR officials fear what could happen next: a $50 million cut to the center\u2019s current $123 million budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Donald Trump proposed the 40% reduction in his 2026 budget request to Congress\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[\u2026]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to laying off workers in the center\u2019s administrative and support units, the belt-tightening will result in a loss of employee benefits and reduced services\u2014such as shorter cafeteria hours and fewer shuttle
