Catastrophic food and water shortage warning in damning national climate report<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Australia\u2019s damning National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA) report<\/a> has warned continued global warming could result in devastating shortages of foods such as fresh fish, beef, mangoes and avocados.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The landmark report detailed how climate change may choke food supply in regional Australian communities and found there will be a \u201chigh to very high risk\u201d to primary industries by 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scenarios of 1.5, two and three degrees of warming were modelled in the NCRA report, which noted the particularly catastrophic effect of severe heatwaves on fresh fruit, vegetables and cattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
