The New York Times<\/em>, the climate alarmist paper of record<\/a>, is sponsoring the \u201cClimate Forward\u201d conference in New York City on Wednesday September 24th. Will it be a wake? Consider the latest promotional push by Times<\/em> reporter David Gelles<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis has been perhaps one of the most consequential years ever for United States climate policy,\u201d he notes, promising \u201cfrank discussions about what it all means.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announced Speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announced speakers are fringe: Brian Schatz <\/strong>(Senate Democrat, Hawaii); Abigail Dillen <\/strong>(Earthjustice); Scott Strazik,<\/strong> (GE Vernova); Manish Bapna, <\/strong>(Natural Resources Defense Council); <\/strong>and Bob Mumgaard <\/strong>(Commonwealth Fusion Systems).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where is everybody?<\/em> Will Al Gore and John Kerry appear to rally the demoralized? Michael \u201cClimategate\u201d Mann? What about Angry Joe Romm? John Holdren? Jigar Shaw<\/a> and Jennifer Granholm<\/a> of Biden\u2019s U.S. Department of Energy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump Effect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to the climate conference. The \u201cTrump Effect,\u201d Gelles states,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

has given many in the United States \u2014 and around the world \u2014 whiplash. Under the Biden administration, the U.S. had positioned itself as a global climate leader and was making strides to reduce emissions at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has withdrawn from international efforts to address global warming while plowing ahead with a domestic agenda that will delay any transition away from fossil fuels. All of this has happened as global temperatures<\/a> and planet-warming emissions<\/a> continue their upward trajectories, and extreme weather is wreaking havoc from Texas to California and beyond.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Or not<\/em>, as temperatures have moderated, and predicted hurricanes have lagged alarmist predictions so far (if so, it was in spite of<\/em> climate change; if not, it was becaus<\/em>e of climate change).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
