Silly story of the week from the Telegraph:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate change<\/em><\/a> could kill off the authentic Bakewell tart, a manufacturer has warned.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cherry-topped <\/em>Derbyshire<\/em><\/a> pudding is now being produced without almonds by some makers because of supply chain problems linked to <\/em>global warming.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supplies of the nut are under strain because of <\/em>extreme heat<\/em><\/a> and declining <\/em>water quality in California<\/em><\/a>, where 80 per cent of the world\u2019s almonds come from.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, back in the real world, global production of almonds has been rising in the last decade and was close to a record high last year:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
