Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce has used a snow event in his electorate of New England to push his campaign against Australia\u2019s \u201clunatic policy of net zero\u201d. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Mr Joyce, on Saturday, published a video on social media as thick snow fell on the town of Bendemeer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA day like today, I don\u2019t know which one is more ridiculous: [UN Secretary-General] Antonio Guterres talking about global boiling, or [Tim Flannery] \u2013 the river\u2019s in flood \u2013 saying, it\u2019s not gonna rain anymore,\u201d he said in a video on his Facebook page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s sad about this really is there\u2019s people in this little village I\u2019m in, Bendemeer, who can\u2019t afford to keep warm because we\u2019ve got this lunatic policy of net zero where apparently we\u2019re going to make it snow even more.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not doing anything, all we\u2019re doing is being completely cruel and hurting people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His \u201cRepeal Net Zero\u201d bill, backed by several Coalition rebels, proposes scrapping Australia\u2019s carbon-neutral target by 2050, a goal in line with most other developed nations.
