nicer\u201d?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one, bar anyone, believes China gives a toss about reducing carbon dioxide emissions, not when<a href=\"https:\/\/joannenova.com.au\/2024\/07\/china-is-the-coal-furnace-of-the-world-and-everyone-is-fine-with-that\/\">&nbsp;China burns four times as much coal as the second largest coal burning nation on Earth<\/a>, and they are increasing the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/joannenova.com.au\/2025\/06\/not-dying-global-approvals-of-coal-plants-back-up-to-2015-high\/\">rate they build new coal plants<\/a>. There is no intrinsic benefit, it\u2019s not shinier or stronger, it just has more social scoring points, or bragability if you go to inner-city upmarket arts parties. Technically, according to the experts, owning green steel will confer benefits like extending winter for a few more days a year (theoretically). I can\u2019t see that catching on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">This is a market that the bottom could fall out of any day<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In May, only<a href=\"https:\/\/joannenova.com.au\/2025\/05\/60-are-skeptics-only-13-of-uk-voters-say-net-zero-is-more-important-than-cost-of-living\/\">&nbsp;13% of UK Voters said Net Zero goals were more important than their cost of living<\/a>. So 87% of the market is already&nbsp;<em>not interested<\/em>&nbsp;in buying Green Steel instead of normal steel. And that 13% \u201cpeak\u201d is only maintained with bullying, censorship and non-stop propaganda by the legacy media. The IPA research showed barely 7% of the population are willing to spend anything meaningful. So 93% of Australians don\u2019t want \u201cgreen steel\u201d. The 7% figure who might hypothetically pay more for \u201cweather changing steel\u201d can only shrink from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The only market for Green Steel in China is the one we make, sorry, we&nbsp;<em>fake<\/em>&nbsp;here at home, with government decrees, forced carbon markets, subsidies, and Soviet rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the EU there is a small premium paid for green steel, but they have a carbon market and targets.
