Scientists with NOAA\u2019s Global Monitoring Laboratory&nbsp;reported an average of 430.5 ppm, an increase of 3.6 ppm over last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAnother year, another record,\u201d said Ralph Keeling, director of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/scrippsco2.ucsd.edu\/\">Scripps CO<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;Program<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s sad.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Situated high on the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano, the Mauna Loa Observatory is the global benchmark location for monitoring atmospheric CO<sub>2<\/sub>.
