Now, Swifties have claimed that Perry’s space flight did more to add to global warming than Swift’s famously jet-reliant Eras Tour:

It’s hard to quantify exactly what did ‘more’ harm here. Taylor Swift’s flights and road travel is measured in carbon emissions, because most earthly fuel sources produce carbon dioxide, which contributes to global warming. Blue Origin, however, uses water vapour. This means no carbon emissions, and bills itself as cleaner. However, there are fears that releasing so muuch [sic] water vapour in the air changes the chemistry of existing clouds, essentially making it a greenhouse gas.

World Inequality Lab has also pointed out that it takes 50 tonnes [sic] of carbon dioxide to prepare for each launch, meaning “it therefore takes a few minutes in space travel to emit at least as much carbon as an individual from the bottom billion will emit in her entire lifetime.”

The math probably doesn’t work out, but it provides endless amusement to watch these overpaid celebrities—and their fans—justify their massive carbon emissions while lecturing the world about global warming.

And now for this week’s Good News segment.

Trump Administration Slashes Climate Research

In its quest to slash bloat and waste from the federal bureaucracy, along with reigniting American energy dominance, the Trump administration has taken aim at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The memo calls for eliminating the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research, which facilitates studies of the planet’s oceans, atmosphere, climate, weather patterns, and other systems.

The memo cites goals including “resetting the proper balance between Federal and State responsibilities” and eliminating wokeness from the federal government. Perhaps most importantly, it ends NOAA’s global warming education programs. It foretells further cuts in 2026, by as much as an additional 38 percent. Many current functions will be transferred to other agencies or privatized while maintaining funding for the National Weather Service.

A weather service that only predicts the weather?
