Today, it spends billions of dollars a year&nbsp;<strong>empowering liberal climate scientists to spread climate change doom.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The government group says its role is to provide the<strong>&nbsp;\u201cscientific foundation to support informed decision-making<\/strong>&nbsp;across the United States\u201d on climate change. It\u2019s done so by producing<strong>&nbsp;five National Climate Assessment reports<\/strong>, which are considered the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenews.net\/articles\/trump-team-takes-aim-at-crown-jewel-of-us-climate-research\/\">crown jewel<\/a>\u201d of climate research.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Despite taking<strong>&nbsp;funding from at least ten separate government agencies,<\/strong>&nbsp;producing the report seems to be the group\u2019s sole function.&nbsp;The&nbsp;<strong>most recent i<\/strong>teration \u2014 published in&nbsp;<strong>2023<\/strong>&nbsp;and still prominently showcased on its government website \u2014&nbsp;<strong>warns<\/strong>&nbsp;that \u201c<strong>severe climate risks<\/strong>&nbsp;to the United States will continue to grow.\u201d The next report is due out in the next couple of years, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eenews.net\/articles\/trump-team-takes-aim-at-crown-jewel-of-us-climate-research\/\">&nbsp;E&amp;E News<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The National Climate Assessment is not simply an intellectual exercise, but rather one that carries real policy might.&nbsp;<strong>Congress and agencies use it to justify regulations and funding decisions<\/strong>, and states and cities across the country lean on it as the non-partisan scientific foundation for their own climate action plans. The Daily Wire identified at&nbsp;<strong>least one&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaspending.gov\/award\/CONT_IDV_80HQTR21D0004_8000\">active contract from NASA<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>for ICF to \u201csupport\u201d the U.S. Global Change Research Program.&nbsp;<strong>ICF is set to be paid millions of dollars during the Trump administration<\/strong>&nbsp;to \u201cassist the nation and the world to understand, assess, predict, and respond to human-induced and natural processes of global change.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The contract was first<a href=\"https:\/\/investor.icf.com\/news-releases\/news-release-details\/nasa-awards-icf-34-million-contract-support-us-global-change\">&nbsp;announced<\/a>&nbsp;in June 2021, and described as a<strong>&nbsp;$34 million, five-year contract<\/strong>&nbsp;to help with the National Climate Assessments. Only<strong>&nbsp;$18 million has been paid out,<\/strong>&nbsp;according to the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaspending.gov\/award\/CONT_IDV_80HQTR21D0004_8000\">&nbsp;government spending database.<\/a>&nbsp;But with another assessment on deck and ICF under contract for another year, the additional $16 million could be disbursed in the next year.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>A climate scientist who has worked on the National Climate Assessment<br>in the past says ICF runs the show, virtually controlling<br>the entire U.S. Global Change Research Program.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>\u201cBy providing all staff<\/strong>&nbsp;for the USGCRP, a federal agency, the<strong>&nbsp;ICF exerts undue influence over the global change narrative and priorities<\/strong>&nbsp;presented by the federal government,\u201d said the official, who requested anonymity to discuss the work. \u201cThe ICF, through the USGCRP, exerts an undue influence on the production of the National Climate Assessment every four years. An analysis of<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaspending.gov\/recipient\/f7268051-dfb6-e5cf-ab3d-11235ea4137f-C\/all\">&nbsp;federal spending data<\/a>&nbsp;found that the consulting firm rakes in hundreds of millions of dollars each year<strong>&nbsp;through federal contracts<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>took in over $2 billion during the Biden administration.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The consulting firm is likely aware that the scope of&nbsp;<strong>its government work could be slashed<\/strong>&nbsp;during Trump\u2019s term, and so are investors.
