The climate crisis narrative ignores real issues like
poor infrastructure and overpopulation, pushing costly policies
that hurt economies while failing to improve resilience.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

According to the\u00a0United Nations<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cClimate change is a\u00a0global emergency<\/strong>\u00a0that goes\u00a0beyond national borders<\/strong>.\u201d From the\u00a0World Economic Forum<\/a><\/strong>, \u201cUrgent global action must be taken to reduce emissions and safeguard human health from the\u00a0multi-pronged negative impacts of climate change<\/strong>\u00a0globally.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

From every multinational institution in the world, we hear the same message. From the\u00a0World Bank<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cThe world is battling a perfect storm of climate, conflict, economic, and nature crises.\u201d From the\u00a0World Health Organization<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cBetween 2030 and 2050, climate change is expected to cause approximately\u00a0250,000 additional deaths per year from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, and heat.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

A major problem with all this unanimity over this \u201cemergency\u201d is the fact that for at least half of all people living in Western nations in 2025,\u00a0the UN, WEF, WHO, and World Bank have no credibility.<\/strong>\u00a0We don\u2019t want to \u201cown nothing and be happy\u201d as our middle class is crushed. We don\u2019t want the only politically acceptable way to maintain national economic growth to rely on population replacement.\u00a0And with only the slightest numeracy, we see apocalyptic proclamations as lacking substance.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

For example, while 250,000 \u201cadditional deaths per year\u201d is tragic,\u00a0worldwide estimates of total deaths<\/strong>\u00a0are not quite\u00a070 million per year<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0These \u201cadditional deaths\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0constitute a 0.36 percent increase over that baseline, just over\u00a0one-third of one percent.<\/strong>\u00a0Not even a rounding error.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Similarly, an alarmist prediction from NASA is that\u00a0\u201cAntarctica is losing ice mass<\/strong>\u00a0(melting) at an average rate of about\u00a0150 billion tons per year<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Greenland<\/strong>\u00a0is losing about\u00a0270 billion tons<\/strong>\u00a0per year, adding to sea level rise.\u201d Let\u2019s unpack that a bit. A billion tons is a gigaton, equivalent in volume to one cubic kilometer. So Antarctica is losing 150 cubic kilometers of ice per year. But\u00a0Antarctica<\/strong>\u00a0has an estimated\u00a0total ice mass of\u00a030 million cubic kilometers<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0Which means Antarctica is losing about\u00a0one twenty-thousandth of one percent\u00a0of its total ice mass per year.<\/strong>\u00a0That is well below the accuracy of measurement. It is an estimate, and the conclusion it suggests is of no significance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One may wonder about\u00a0Greenland<\/strong>, with \u201conly\u201d\u00a02.9 million cubic kilometers<\/a>\u00a0of ice,<\/strong>\u00a0melting at an estimated rate of\u00a0270 gigatons per year<\/a>. But that still yields a\u00a0rate of loss of less than\u00a0one one-hundredth of one percent\u00a0per year,<\/strong>\u00a0which is almost certainly below the ability to actually gauge total ice mass and total annual ice loss.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

What about sea level rise? Here again, basic math yields underwhelming conclusions. The total surface area of the world\u2019s oceans is 361 million square kilometers<\/a>.<\/strong> If you spread 420 gigatons<\/strong> over that surface (Greenland and Antarctica\u2019s melting combined), you get a sea level rise of not quite 1.2 millimeters per year.<\/strong> This is, again, so insignificant that it is below the threshold of our ability to measure.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These fundamental facts will turn anyone willing
to do even basic fact-checking into a cynic.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s really going on? We get at least a glimpse of truth from the above quotation from the World Bank, where they ascribe the challenges of humanity<\/strong> to several causes: \u201cclimate, conflict, economic, and nature crises.\u201d<\/strong> There\u2019s value in the distinctions they make. They list \u201cnature crisis\u201d as distinct from \u201cclimate,\u201d and at least explicitly, \u201cclimate\u201d is not cited as<\/strong> resulting from some anthropogenically generated<\/strong> trend of increasing temperatures and increasingly extreme weather. They just say \u201cclimate.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which brings us to the point:\u00a0Conflict and economic crises are far bigger sources of human misery,<\/strong>\u00a0and we face serious environmental challenges that have little to do with climate change and more to do with how we manage our industry, our wilderness, and our natural resources. And we are face \u201cclimate\u201d challenges even when catastrophic climate events have nothing to do with any alleged \u201cclimate crisis.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

A perfect example of how the climate \u201ccrisis\u201d narrative is falsely applied when, in fact, the climate-related catastrophe would have happened anyway is found in the disastrous\u00a0floods that devastated Pakistan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in 2022. Despite the doomsday spin from PBS (etc.), these floods were\u00a0not abnormal because of \u201cclimate change.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0They were an abnormal catastrophe because in just 60 years, the\u00a0population<\/strong>\u00a0of that nation has\u00a0grown<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a045 million to 240 million people<\/a>. They\u2019ve\u00a0channelized their rivers<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0built dense\u00a0new settlements<\/strong>\u00a0onto what were once floodplains<\/a>\u00a0and other\u00a0marginal land<\/strong>, they\u2019ve\u00a0denuded their forests<\/a>, which took away the capacity to absorb runoff, and they\u2019ve\u00a0paved thousands of square miles<\/a>,\u00a0creating impervious surfaces<\/strong>\u00a0where water can\u2019t percolate. Of course, a big storm made a mess. The weather didn\u2019t change. The nation changed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The disaster story repeats everywhere. Contrary to the narrative,\u00a0the primary cause is not \u201cclimate change.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Bigger tsunamis? Maybe it\u2019s because coastal\u00a0aquifers were overdrafted<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0which caused land subsidence, or because previously uninhabited\u00a0tidelands were settled<\/strong>\u00a0because the population quintupled in less than two generations, and because\u00a0coastal mangrove forests<\/a>\u00a0were destroyed,<\/strong>\u00a0which used to attenuate big waves. What about deforestation? Perhaps because these nations have been\u00a0denied the ability to develop natural gas and hydroelectric power, they\u2019re stripping away the forests<\/strong>\u00a0for fuel to cook their food. In some cases, they\u2019re burning their forests to\u00a0make room for biofuel<\/a>\u00a0plantations, in a towering display of irony and corruption.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

In\u00a0California<\/strong>, our nation\u2019s epicenter of climate crisis fearmongering and the subsequent commercial opportunism, the emphasis on crisis instead of resilience has led to\u00a0absurd policies.<\/strong>\u00a0Instead of bringing back the timber industry to thin the\u00a0state\u2019s overgrown forests<\/a>, the governor\u00a0mandates exclusive sales of EVs by 2035.<\/strong>\u00a0Instead of responsibly drilling oil in California\u2019s ample reserves of crude, California\u00a0imports 75 percent of its oil<\/strong>, and its economy still relies on oil\u00a0for half the energy that the state consumes.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Worldwide, these mistakes multiply.\u00a0Biofuel plantations consume half a million square miles in order to replace a mere two percent of transportation fuel.<\/strong>\u00a0A mad scramble across every continent to\u00a0increase mining<\/strong>\u00a0by an order of magnitude to meet the demand for raw materials\u00a0to manufacture batteries, wind turbines, and solar panels.<\/strong>\u00a0Denial of funds for natural gas development in Africa, condemning over a billion people to ongoing energy poverty.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Simple truths are obscured by the climate crisis narrative.<\/strong>\u00a0We need to\u00a0rebuild our infrastructure for climate resilience<\/strong>\u00a0because much of it is over a century old, at the same time as the\u00a0US population has tripled.<\/strong>\u00a0Floods and hurricanes cause more damage because there are more people, and more of them live in areas that have\u00a0always\u00a0been hit by floods and hurricanes.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need\u00a0climate resilience in order to properly protect a global population<\/strong>\u00a0that has\u00a0quadrupled to 8 billion<\/a>\u00a0in just the last century, spreading to every corner of the earth. That goal would be easier if\u00a0once-trusted global institutions<\/strong>\u00a0would allow for honest debate and practical infrastructure development. Instead, they continue to\u00a0spew transparently misleading climate crisis propaganda,<\/strong>\u00a0adhering to a mission that can only be described as repressive on all fronts\u2014culturally, economically, and environmentally.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truths are as endless as they are repressed. We can\u2019t possibly\u00a0lift all of humanity<\/strong>\u00a0into a middle-class lifestyle without\u00a0at least doubling energy production worldwide<\/strong>, and we can\u2019t possibly accomplish that while also reducing our use of coal, oil, and gas.\u00a0Renewables aren\u2019t renewable<\/strong>\u00a0(here\u2019s a must-read on that topic<\/a>).\u00a0Offshore wind is an environmental disaster, as is biofuel, as is the explosion of totally unregulated mining to feed the renewables industry.<\/strong>\u00a0On the other hand,\u00a0extreme environmental laws and regulations are harming<\/strong>\u00a0economic growth, freedom, and, in no small irony, the innovation and investment that would give us the wealth we need to better protect the environment. And the prevailing economic, environmental, and cultural challenge in the world is not the climate but crashing birthrates among developing nations at the same time as the population of the world\u2019s most undeveloped nations\u00a0continues to explode<\/a>\u00a0exponentially.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n
