I find no evidence that they are disclosing this threat to the public or their stockholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EO is quite clear in initiating an investigation into terminating these leases. Here is the text:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith respect to such existing leases, the Secretary of the Interior, in consultation with the Attorney General as needed, shall conduct a comprehensive review of the ecological, economic, and environmental necessity of terminating or amending any existing wind energy leases, identifying any legal bases for such removal, and submit a report with recommendations to the President, through the Assistant to the President for Economic Policy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the five OSW projects under construction listed by owner, with the most relevant statements that I could find on this threat:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Dominion Energy\u2019s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDominion says offshore wind farm moving forward, despite executive order\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/virginiabusiness.com\/dominion-says-offshore-wind-farm-moving-forward-despite-executive-order\/\">Dominion says offshore wind farm moving forward, despite executive order &#8211; Virginia Business<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTrump warned axing largest US offshore wind farm would be \u2018most inflationary action&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDominion Energy CEO Bob Blue doesn\u2019t foresee impacts from President Donald Trump\u2019s halting offshore wind leasing and permitting to its mammoth 2.6GW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project currently in at-sea construction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rechargenews.com\/wind\/trump-warned-axing-largest-us-offshore-wind-farm-would-be-most-inflationary-action\/2-1-1778958\">https:\/\/www.rechargenews.com\/wind\/trump-warned-axing-largest-us-offshore-wind-farm-would-be-most-inflationary-action\/2-1-1778958<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Orsted\u2019s Revolution Wind and Sunrise Wind projects<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOrsted\u2019s Sunrise Wind and Revolution wind projects that are under construction offshore New York and New England respectively should not be impacted by Trump\u2019s order, CEO Rasmus Errboe told investors the company\u2019s company\u2019s Feb. 6 earnings call. Future developments, however, may be at risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are fully committed to moving them forward and deliver on our commitments,\u201d Errboe said.&nbsp;\u201cWe do not expect that the executive order will have any implications on assets under construction, but of course for assets under development, it\u2019s potentially a different situation.\u201d\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/02\/16\/trumps-broadside-against-wind-industry-puts-projects-that-could-power-millions-of-homes-at-risk.html\">https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/02\/16\/trumps-broadside-against-wind-industry-puts-projects-that-could-power-millions-of-homes-at-risk.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Equinor\u2019s Empire Wind project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cBut the international companies behind Empire Wind and Sunrise Wind say they are committed to protecting their investments and completing the projects amid the uncertainty as the&nbsp;\u201cbest way to create and protect shareholder value,\u201d&nbsp;as Equinor\u2019s CFO put it in a recent earnings call.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-the-city-nyc-news wp-block-embed-the-city-nyc-news\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"1hNO2QqPSk\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2025\/03\/13\/wind-energy-brooklyn-queens-turbines-trump\/\">Wind Power Projects Slam Into Trump Permit Pause<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Wind Power Projects Slam Into Trump Permit Pause&#8221; &#8212; THE CITY - NYC News\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thecity.nyc\/2025\/03\/13\/wind-energy-brooklyn-queens-turbines-trump\/embed\/#?secret=qhFwPlX3sK#?secret=1hNO2QqPSk\" data-secret=\"1hNO2QqPSk\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Avangrid Renewables\u2019 Vineyard Wind project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cTrump\u2019s pause on offshore wind leasing may have limited impact in New England\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/news\/2025\/01\/22\/trump-wind-executive-order-massachusetts-vineyard-wind\">https:\/\/www.wbur.org\/news\/2025\/01\/22\/trump-wind-executive-order-massachusetts-vineyard-wind<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vineyard Wind itself is understandably silent as they are already in a warm Federal embrace thanks to the debris laden failure of a 70 ton wind tower blade. They were allowed to resume construction just before Trump took office and issued his EO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall it looks like the offshore wind construction projects are simply ignoring the Federal investigation into their legitimacy. Even under Biden the federal leasing agency made it clear that a lease is not a right to build, just a right to make a proposal. The leases themselves contain language allowing the Feds to change them with no limit to how big these changes might be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Statements by offshore wind developers that their federal leases are not subject to the Presidents Executive Order are simply incorrect.
