Angela Merkel as German Chancellor covered up an explosive 2020 intelligence report that found a high probability \u2013 80-95% \u2013 that the COVID-19 virus came from a laboratory accident in Wuhan, China. The Telegraph <\/em>has the story<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A joint investigation by two German newspapers alleges that Angela Merkel, the then Chancellor, and her successor Olaf Scholz both turned a blind eye to the report, produced by Germany\u2019s foreign intelligence agency, the BND.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung<\/em> and Die Zeit<\/em>, the BND concluded in 2020 that an accident in a laboratory in Wuhan<\/a> led to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report, based on public records, data from the Wuhan Institute of Virology<\/a> and a German intelligence operation known as \u2018Saaremaa\u2019, found an \u201c80 to 95%\u201d probability that COVID-19 came from Wuhan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BND presented the findings to Mrs Merkel, who chose to keep the information \u201cunder lock and key\u201d, according to S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung<\/em>\u2019s report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency later presented the findings to Mr Scholz, when he took over as Chancellor in 2021. He ordered a review of the findings but did not share them with the public or Members of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A spokesman for Mrs Merkel declined to comment when approached by S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung<\/em>. A German Government spokesman said it \u201cdoes not publicly comment on intelligence affairs\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It comes after the CIA announced in January that a laboratory leak in China was probably the cause<\/a> of the pandemic rather than natural causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that review was based on a so-called low confidence assessment, meaning it lacked conclusive intelligence evidence.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

So, they covered up a key intelligence report while allowing the same claims found within it to be censored across social media as a \u2018conspiracy theory\u2019, and they wonder why no one trusts them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
