The Trump administration has already started to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2025\/02\/18\/stephen-miller-cnn-brianna-keilar-doge-cuts\/\">lay off<\/a>&nbsp;federal workers en masse from various agencies in order to deflate the government bureaucracy and reduce waste in federal spending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI spoke with Lee Zeldin, and he thinks he\u2019s going to be cutting 65 or so percent of the people from environmental, and we\u2019re going to speed up the process too at the same time,\u201d Trump told reporters on Wednesday. \u201cHe had a lot of people that weren\u2019t doing their job, they were just obstructionists, and a lot of people that didn\u2019t exist.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Trump administration&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/establishing-and-implementing-the-presidents-department-of-government-efficiency\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">established<\/a>&nbsp;the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on Jan. 20 to eliminate wasteful spending in the federal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2025\/02\/25\/federal-govt-middle-america-private-sector-doge-cuts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government<\/a>.
