But 40 years of observations (1980-) show no increasing SH trend over arid\/semi-arid regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Per state-of-the-art climate models, relative humidity (RH) should remain relatively constant, if not decline slightly as a consequence of CO2-induced global warming. But 40 years of observations (1980-) show not a&nbsp;<em>slight<\/em>&nbsp;declining trend, but a declining trend that is \u201cabout an order of magnitude more than the models on average.\u201d In other words, the climate models are wrong by a factor of 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authors did not understate the profundity of these climate modeling failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThis represents a major gap in our understanding and in climate model fidelity that must be understood and fixed as soon as possible in order to provide reliable hydroclimate projections for arid\/semi-arid regions in the coming decades.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" study<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;has once again confirmed there has been an \u201cunexpected\u201d decline in ocean evaporation (which accounts for 85% of the derivation of global atmospheric water vapor) since 2008, the \u201cturning point\u201d (TP) year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These robust results affirming a declining ocean evaporation (Eo) or water vapor trend across two-thirds of the globe \u2013 mostly in the Southern Hemisphere \u2013 can be found in all four satellite data sets used for the study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img just since 2008, or 1980, but since the late 1940s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Observations do not seem to be sufficiently cooperating with the \u201cwater vapor feedback\u201d
