Though at one point, Sabine accuses President Trump of not caring about climate change \u201cbecause he will be dead by the time everything goes to hell\u201d, without presenting any evidence to back this nasty accusation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sabine also fails to explain how President Trump is making us do anything \u2013 as far as I know, people who believe in the climate crisis are still free to practice whatever mitigation measures they want, on their own dime. It is the rest of us who are being liberated from having to follow the commandments of the climate cult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m not the only person to notice and comment on Sabine\u2019s curious blind spot when it comes to climate science. Our favourite reef scientist&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wattsupwiththat.com\/tag\/peter-ridd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dr Peter Ridd<\/a>&nbsp;also recently called Sabine out on her climate views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"723\" height=\"407\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/REteSlY63do?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite Sabine\u2019s climate blind spot, I\u2019m optimistic about Sabine\u2019s journey towards climate skepticism. Sabine seems to be someone who takes the scientific method seriously. In the video above Ridd points out how the flaws Sabine has uncovered in climate models bother her \u2013 though she believes \u201cthe reality might be far worse\u201d, that climate model flaws might be concealing rather than exaggerating the full impact of rising CO2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I sure wish Sabine would do a little more research into her concern that climate models are underestimating the negative impact of CO2, because there is plenty of paleo evidence which contradicts such concerns. There is no plausible scenario in which global warming endangers human survival and prosperity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My favourite proof that high CO2 levels are benign involves monkeys. The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Paleocene%E2%80%93Eocene_Thermal_Maximum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum<\/a>, 5-8C hotter than today, was the age when monkeys first became prominent in the fossil record.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pnas.org\/doi\/10.1073\/pnas.0511296103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Our monkey ancestors thrived on the abundance of the hothouse PETM, and colonised much of the world<\/a>&nbsp;including Greenland and Siberia, only retreating when the cold returned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only a benign climate could have delivered such ecological success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if anthropogenic CO2 emissions somehow returned us to the hothouse conditions of the PETM, that hothouse world would still be a benign climate for humans.&nbsp;<strong>Climatic conditions which allowed our closest animal relatives to thrive would also allow humans to thrive.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I look forward to Sabine overcoming whatever mental block is preventing her from embracing the full truth about the unfounded alarmism of establishment climate science, because on the day Sabine wakes up and realises she was wrong, let&#8217;s just say I\u2019m pretty confident WUWT will publish that video.
