class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heat pump rollout lurches from one disaster to another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/mcscertified.com\/2024-was-a-record-year-for-small-scale-renewables\/\">Microgeneration Certification Scheme<\/a>, installations were less than 60,000, despite increased government subsidies of \u00a37500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The total number of installations in the UK is now 275,000, just one percent of UK households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/statistics\/heat-pump-deployment-statistics-september-2024\">government statistics<\/a>&nbsp;show that heat pump installations covered under the public subsidy regime are running at around 10,000 per quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the ban on fossil fuel boilers in new builds this year will increase increase installations, this will have no effect on the 27 million existing houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the current rate, 26.4 million will still not have heat pumps by 2035.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Last year, according to the\u00a0Microgeneration Certification Scheme,
