Sheffield City Council are blaming climate change for a \u00a35m tree maintenance bill, saying the increased regularity of storms has caused costs to balloon.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly the Telegraph quotes two scientists who say observations do not back up Sheffield\u2019s claim, but another, Hayley Fowler, who says her modelling showed that climate change is making storms like Eowyn \u201cmore frequent, with more intense wind speeds and much higher rainfall amounts\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe Hayley should start looking at real world data and ignore her fictitious models, because the Met Office maintain she is talking out of her backside!<\/p>\n\n\n

Hayley Fowler appears to have spent her whole academic career modelling the climate. It is a sad state affair for climate science that modelling takes precedence over proper science and actual data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
