look at sea ice volume, rather than extent, we see a different story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of October, when ice was close to its maximum, the volume was higher than some Strong winds from the north push the ice polewards, thus reducing extent but also increasing thickness.
