He told the <\/em>Sunday Times<\/em><\/a>: \u201cChanging what we eat is the biggest single thing we can do to reduce carbon emissions to improve human health.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe role for government is to give us better advice, to <\/em>put health warnings on meat<\/em><\/a> and dairy products, to change the menu in the NHS and our public institutions.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UN estimates that domestic livestock emissions make up about 14 per cent of man-made greenhouse gases, such as methane.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
