to use them, in order to fulfill a messianic vision of<strong>\u00a0massive, rapid emissions reduction.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com\/politics\/federal\/too-little-too-late-trudeau-government-plans-ad-campaign-to-promote-carbon-pricing-and-rebates\/article_db51d324-6aca-11ef-bdc1-b391f920aaa5.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">government expense<\/a>, and zealously promoted by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpost.com\/news\/politics\/mark-carney-leading-a-one-man-task-force\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mark Carney<\/a>, who thinks mass decarbonization, as epitomized by Europe, provides the road map to prosperity,&nbsp;<strong>despite the continent\u2019s class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>This approach has also poisoned politics as\u00a0<strong>not all provinces are affected equally<\/strong>\u00a0by the initiative. The institution of the carbon tax and other measures by government and through the relentless pressure of green non-profits, to get a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/politics\/canada-2030-emissions-reduction-plan-1.6401228\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">40 per cent emissions cut<\/a>\u00a0by 2030 may be the toast of investment bankers betting on cashing in on forced changes. Even Liberals\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpost.com\/news\/canada\/carbon-tax-will-impact-gdp-by-25-billion-in-2030-internal-data-released-by-liberals-shows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admit<\/a>\u00a0something close to a 1 per cent decline. Yet, attempts to follow such approaches elsewhere have not ended well. In Europe, most obviously Germany, as well as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.energysage.com\/local-data\/electricity-cost\/ca\/#:~:text=On%20average%2C%20California%20residents%20spend,average%20electric%20bill%20of%20%242%2C914.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California<\/a>,\u00a0<strong>the shift to \u201crenewable energy\u201d has led, as it usually does, to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/abs\/pii\/S1364032120305955\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">high prices<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>that already are driving German industry off the continent. Yet, in the real world, despite billions in subsidies for \u201cgreen power,\u201d\u00a0<strong>fossil fuels still represent roughly\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/robertbryce.substack.com\/p\/the-energy-transition-isnt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">four fifths of global energy generation,<\/a>\u00a0just as it did twenty years ago.<\/strong>\u00a0This is\u00a0<strong>after expenditures of over one trillion were spent on solar and wind<\/strong>. Since 1990 the manufacturing sector\u2019s share of GDP has dropped roughly 50 per cent along with several million jobs. This parallels a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailysceptic.org\/2024\/03\/31\/the-green-energy-mess-that-nobody-will-admit-to\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">two thirds drop<\/a>&nbsp;in UK energy production, while consumption has fallen by only one third. Ironically, carbon reduction policies fit brilliantly into its\u00a0<strong>strategy to use its coal and other fossil fuel energy to power their takeover of the \u201cgreen economy.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0China has placed itself in the catbird\u2019s seat on renewable energy, including utter domination of solar panels and electric vehicles. Artificial intelligence and data center demand are leading to massive expansions in projected energy use around the world at a time of restricted supply. Google, renowned for its green virtue signaling, has boosted its own emissions by 50 per cent since 2019.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Ultimately, the&nbsp;<strong>oligarchs will likely get their juice from sources like decommissioned nuclear energy,<\/strong>&nbsp;while the&nbsp;<strong>average family will take the economic hit<\/strong>&nbsp;in order to fulfill the agenda pushed by the likes of Steve Jobs\u2019 widow, Lauren, Michael Bloomberg, the Rockefellers, Jeff Bezos and venture capitalist John Doerr. environmental bromides<\/a>, has\u00a0<strong>backed away from EV mandates and\u00a0opposition to fracking,\u00a0albeit with dubious credibility.<\/strong>\u00a0Yet, perhaps she realizes, or those around her do, that these policies do not sell well compared to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aei.org\/op-eds\/energy-abundance-not-climate-action-is-the-road-forward-for-harris\/\" target=\"_blank\"
