As CFACT\u2019s senior policy analyst explains, the warming-Left doesn\u2019t just want to control your energy; they\u2019re coming for your food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cLike the rest of the \u2018agro-ecology\u2019 movement, they deride and malign modern agriculture as a scourge inflicted by greedy mega-corporations. They oppose fossil fuels, pesticides, herbicides, and biotechnology. They extol \u2018food sovereignty\u2019 and the \u2018right to choose.\u2019 But their policies reflect top-down tyranny and bullying, with little room for poor farmers to embrace modern agricultural technologies and practices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Driessen lists a host of enviro and climate pressure groups, billionaire funders, and even the World Economic Forum as leading the war on food.&nbsp; Importantly, he&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfact.org\/2024\/08\/15\/who-is-directing-the-war-on-agriculture-and-nutrition\/\">identifies government agencies<\/a>&nbsp;that have been in collusion with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Leftist organizations meddling in our food supply is terrible news for American farmers and consumers as well as for those in other industrialized nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, Kamala Harris wants the federal government to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2024\/08\/16\/business\/harris-price-gouging-ban-inflation\/index.html\">seize control of food pricing<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The climate attack on food is even worse news for the developing world, where food insecurity is most severe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fortunately, developing nations are pushing back.&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfact.org\/2024\/08\/15\/who-is-directing-the-war-on-agriculture-and-nutrition\/\">Driessen writes that<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cSouth Africa\u2019s electricity minister recently said his country will not be \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/committeetounleashprosperity.com\/hotlines\/international-climate-change-deals-only-make-the-poor-poorer\/\">turned into a guinea pig<\/a>&nbsp;for a worldwide Green New Deal.\u2019 Hopefully, all developing countries will soon apply that same attitude to anarchists who would use the world\u2019s poor as guinea pigs in global agricultural and nutrition experiments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Historically, governments that seize control of their nation\u2019s food supplies end up with hungry citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The myriad supply chains it takes to stock grocery shelves are far too complex and important to trust to bureaucrats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
