on Friday said it would relocate to Houston, Texas, breaking a historic association with the Golden State that stretches back to the 1870s.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Chevron\u2019s decision follows repeated&nbsp;<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/2024\/01\/02\/chevron-us-oil-suffers-4bn-hit-democrat-california-laws\/\"><em>warnings from bosses that stringent environmental regulations<\/em><\/a><em>&nbsp;and other moves by the Californian government had made doing business there too difficult.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>It is the latest oil company to walk away from the state, while other employers such as Elon Musk\u2019s SpaceX have also relocated following rows with state authorities about new legislation.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
