Instead it was a five year reckless experiment that trashed historic industries and threatens a lifestyle that took a thousand years to create.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The real Kingmakers in the EU who were panicking about climate change last week, are now suddenly<a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/my-europe\/2024\/06\/10\/eu-election-results-live-updates-conservatives-and-social-democrats-hold-the-centre-ground\">&nbsp;non-committal about inviting the Greens to talks<\/a>. It was always about power for Ursula Von der Leyen and sadly she is still there. There is still much to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.steynonline.com\/14366\/the-far-right-moves-nearer\">The wonderful Mark Steyn on the EU elections and the media massaging:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Indeed, between [Marine Le Pen\u2019s] triumphant National Rally and M Zemour\u2019s Reconqu\u00eate (the Reconquest party),&nbsp;what the BBC and even the&nbsp;<em>Telegraph<\/em>&nbsp;insist on calling the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/world-news\/2024\/06\/09\/european-parliament-elections-latest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">far right<\/a>\u201d got just shy of forty per cent of the vote.&nbsp;(M Zemour\u2019s party is for those who think Mme Le Pen is no longer \u201cfar right\u201d enough.)&nbsp;In Germany Olaf Scholz saw his party come third, behind the even more \u201cfar right\u201d Alternative f\u00fcr Deutschland. Over a million of Scholz\u2019s voters switched to the ooh-ever-so-far-right AfD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So the \u201cfar right\u201d are getting a lot nearer: maybe the&nbsp;<em>Telegraph<\/em>&nbsp;should try holding the telescope the right way round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instead, the media took consolation in finding the far-right rampage didn\u2019t go quite as far as it might: in the Netherlands,&nbsp;Geert Wilders\u2019 Freedom Party has gone from zero seats to six to emerge as the largest single Dutch party in the European Parliament \u2013 but all the experts are agreed that for some reason this is a wee bit of an under-performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UPDATE: Good news, the young voters are turning away:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[Google translated]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tichyseinblick.de\/daili-es-sentials\/europawahl-gruene-verluste\/\">Greens with massive losses \u2013<\/a>&nbsp;especially young voters turn away<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AfD and CDU are particularly popular with young voters. Voting right is not a trend, but rather a matter of self-defence. The Greens are the main losers, as they have become the epitome of philistinism. They get the ridicule of the internet for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both parties have lost their magic. Now things are getting even worse for the Greens. The new youth parties are called AfD and CDU. Of all things! Anyone who joins the Junge Union or the Workers\u2019 Party for Germany today is a revolutionary. The middle class is green, or better said: the bourgeoisie. And who is alternative if they are on the side of the philistines?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For most young people, however, it is clear that they will not retire at 70, they will not buy a house, and they may not be able to support a family \u2013 and if they do, their children will grow up in problem areas, in rural wasteland or in an environment of left-wing indoctrination. Voting right is not a trend, not chic, not a whim.
