I also shared that the average price of an EV was $55,000 versus $35,000 for a conventional vehicle with this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/research\/a31544842\/how-much-is-an-electric-car\/\">link<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then replied:&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThe difference is the public now knows what Exxon knew in 1977, that their product was going to change the climate\u2026.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But before I knew it, I was BLOCKED from his feed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Who is Buzz Smith? Here is his&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theev-angelist.com\/who-we-are\/\">profile<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Buzz Smith<\/strong>&nbsp;is the founder of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theev-angelist.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The EVangelist<\/a>. Oddly, he started his career in oil &amp; gas. He left that industry, after ten years, during one of the many oil \u201cbusts.\u201d In 2012, his life was changed by a car accident. His car was totaled. Gasoline was expensive, so he leased a Chevy Volt. He loved it so much, he started a blog called, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theev-angelist.com\/my-electric-vehicle-journey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">My Electric Vehicle Journey<\/a>.\u201d Less than two months later, his wife Bonnie leased a Chevy Volt too. (they&nbsp;<em>re-<\/em>Volted!)A year later, his Chevrolet dealership hired him as a salesperson, focusing on plug-in vehicles. For the next 6 years, Buzz was the #1 plug-in vehicle salesperson, for the entire state of Texas, with 35% of his sales being plug-in vehicles.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But funny thing: Buzz brags about \u201cNo oil to change\u201d and \u201cNo spark plugs\u201d and \u201cno Transmission fluid\u201d and \u201cregenerative brakes\u201d but does not evangelize about the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/autos\/news\/21-unfortunate-electric-vehicle-flaws-that-no-one-is-discussing\/ss-BB1ia5Wt?item=flightsprg-tipsubsc-v1a?season=2024#image=1\">21 problems of EVs<\/a>.
