For many, the summer of 2022 sticks in the mind like a sweat-soaked shirt to the back beneath the country\u2019s blazing 40C heatwave.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UK saw temperatures smash records never seen before with the mercury hitting 40.3C in Lincolnshire, in what was the highest figure seen in UK climate history. But while Brits may have dodged a repeat of the infamous heat snap last year, 2023 was still Earth\u2019s hottest on record overall \u2013 and fears are mounting over the dials rising again before summer even arrives.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meteorologist Jim Dale claims Brits are in for a sweltering spring, seeing\u00a0<\/mark><\/em><\/strong>heat<\/em><\/mark><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to rival that of 2022\u2019s in April, while the Met Office has already projected overall temperatures this year to\u00a0<\/mark><\/em><\/strong>smash records again<\/em><\/mark><\/strong><\/a>. Speaking to GB News, he said temperatures could climb unseasonably high this month as a result of\u00a0<\/mark><\/em><\/strong>climate change<\/em><\/mark><\/strong><\/a>.<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We will see hot\u00a0<\/mark><\/strong><\/em>weather<\/em><\/mark><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0start to bake in during the course of April, and at times in the summer time,” Mr Dale said. “We are not divorced from what is going around the globe and what is going on is quite frightening in terms of the temperature profiles. “<\/mark><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baking hot weather? Really, Jim?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CET daily maximums got as high as a mild 18.3C on the 11th, and that was it! Well short of the record of 25.0C set in 2003, and hardly bikini weather. Indeed, what most people would describe as distinctly cool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then the month has mostly been distinctly cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
