According to NASA satellite data, the planet remained in the grip of the naturally-caused warming during a waning El Ni\u00f1o phenomenon in March:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In contrast, the real-time surface station temperature measurements from\u00a0Temperature.global<\/a>\u00a0report that temperature remained cooler than at the height of the prior El Ni\u00f1o during 2015-2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll close out this month with an interesting\u00a0commentary<\/a>\u00a0in Nature magazine from NASA\u2019s chief climate scientist, Gavin Schmidt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schmidt acknowledges that emissions-based climate models don\u2019t explain the apparent ongoing warming that started in July 2023. Recall that we\u2019ve been told since the 1990s that climate science is \u201csettled.\u201d That doesn\u2019t seem so, now does it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
