Germany appears to be in a technical recession thanks in part to climate policies, according to the country\u2019s central bank.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The German economy has struggled since 2022, flashing strong indicators that its economically-crucial manufacturing sector is\u00a0hollowing out<\/a>\u00a0amid a\u00a0prolonged energy crisis<\/a>. The Bundesbank, Germany\u2019s central bank,\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0Monday that while the economy\u2019s sluggishness may meet the technical definition of a recession, the institution does not presently believe that there are credible indications that the German economy is experiencing the deep and prolonged economic decline colloquially associated with a state of recession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGerman economic output contracted in the final quarter of 2023, according to the February Monthly Report.
