More than 600 are already listed for sale on its used car website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three years ago, Hertz announced plans to buy 100,000 Tesla electric cars, a move that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/business\/2021\/10\/25\/tesla-model-3-becomes-europes-best-selling-car-electric-first\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">pushed Tesla\u2019s market value beyond $1 trillion.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, Hertz said renting out electric cars had proved to be less profitable than traditional vehicles and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/money\/consumer-affairs\/electric-cars-cheaper-to-scrap-than-repair-after-minor-pran\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the cars had also come with higher repair costs.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drivers also still want petrol or diesel-powered cars.
