November 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Surface temperatures measured where people live show there\u2019s as much cold as there \u2018s warmth, see&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/temperature.global\/\">temperature.global.com<\/a>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/eike-klima-energie.eu\/2023\/11\/13\/kaeltereport-nr-32-2023\/\"><strong>Christian Freuer\u2019s Cold Report (EIKE)<\/strong><\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/electroverse.co\/\"><strong>and Electroverse.com<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Snowpack extent in US reaches record levels!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">America\u2019s first Arctic air blast of the season broke hundreds of low temperature records and led to the largest snowpack extent there in early November in NOAA records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A high snowpack blanketed the Rocky Mountains, northern Plains, Great Lakes and northern New England, resulting in 17.9% of the Lower 48 under a blanket of snow as the calendar turned to November \u2013 a new record in the books dating back to 2003.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many places recorded their snowiest Halloweens ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At 22 inches, Muskegon, MI, not only recorded the snowiest Halloween ever, but also the snowiest October day and month. Glasgow, MT, recorded the snowiest start to the season with 36 inches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cold broke hundreds of low temperature records across the country, from Texas to Maine, dropping the average temperature in the Lower 48 to -0.5\u00b0C \u2013 more than 5 degrees Celsius below normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Historic November cold grips Argentina, Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A late cold spell has hit large parts of South America, especially Argentina. The country recorded the lowest November temperatures since records began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A number of records for highs and lows have fallen. New November lows fell in New South Wales, including -2.5\u00b0C in Young and -0.1\u00b0C in Parkes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Cold October in Uruguay<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The South American frost at the beginning of November also hit Uruguay, continuing the anomalously cold October. October 2023 averaged between -0.5 \u00b0C and -1 \u00b0C below the multi-year norm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Snowstorm claims the lives of shepherds in Mongolia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last year, cold and snow disrupted the seasonal migrations of shepherds in northern China, Kazakhstan and Mongolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last November, herders in the northwestern Chinese region of Xinjiang died in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/electroverse.co\/china-harshest-cold-wave-since-1987-canadas-coldest-nov-temp-cold-sub-saharan-africa-global-cooling\/\">the lowest temperatures since the 1980s<\/a>. Hundreds of cattle and sheep froze to death as snowstorms and temperatures as low as a record -48.6\u00b0C blew in from the north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is a terrifying&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SerikzhanBilash\/status\/1595675129358741505?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1595675129358741505%7Ctwgr%5E1a39d7500f67d4f0be9bf54c14240dd3eb58dcb6%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Felectroverse.info%2Fsnowstorms-mongolia-record-snow-china-anchorage-record-snow-antarctica-has-cooled%2F\">Twitter video<\/a>&nbsp;about this!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winter capers in China and Mongolia (which appear again in a news item below) also found their way back into the alarmist blog&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wetteronline.de\/wetterticker\/mehrere-tote-bei-schneesturm-in-mongolei-chaos-in-nordchina--8c3fb4d9-27a9-4cd6-a504-13a6739717cf\">wetteronline.de<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Record snowfall in China<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trains and buses were canceled and schools closed across northern China as the first major snowstorm of the season hit the country. According to the weather service, the cold front is expected to bring record-breaking snowfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Major highways in northeastern cities such as Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, are closed and flights have been canceled, according to Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lots of snow in Anchorage<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anchorage also saw its first major snowfall from Sunday to Monday, with more than 15 cm falling on November 5 alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the National Weather Service, this was the most fresh snow ever to fall in the city on November 5. The cooling was most pronounced in spring, with the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) cooling at a rate of 1.84\u00b0C per decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the results of Zhang et al., most of the Antarctic continent has cooled by more than 1\u00b0C in the last two decades.
