(<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0040195123002834\">Shishikura et al., 2023<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">RSL was ~4.2 m to 6000 years ago sea level rise and warming were so rapid that coastlines retreated landward at rates of 22 m per year (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1177\/09596836231163507\">Sydor et al.,, 2023<\/a><\/strong>). Per the charts shown in the study, there is more coastal land area above sea level today than anytime in 7000 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cIn the period 8000\u20136000\u2009yr b2k, the coastline migrated southwards (landwards), initially at a rate of up to 22\u2009m\/yr and later up to 2\u2009m\/yr. The main driving forces at that time were climate warming and rapid sea level rise.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" m higher than today along the coasts of the Yellow Sea about 6500 years ago, or when CO2 was 265 ppm (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sciencedirect.com\/science\/article\/pii\/S0031018223003978\">Yang
