class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a speech from Downing Street on Wednesday, Mr Sunak said moving too fast on green policies \u201crisks losing the consent of the British people\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the key changes announced were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A five-year delay in the ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars, meaning a requirement for all new cars to be \u201czero emission\u201d will not come into force until 2035<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A nine-year delay in the ban on new fossil fuel heating for off-gas-grid homes to 2035<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Raising the Boiler Upgrade Grant by 50% to \u00a37,500 to help households who want to replace their gas boilers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ban on the sale of new gas boilers in 2035 remains, but the government will introduce new exemption for poorer households<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scrapping the requirement on landlords to ensure all rental properties had a Energy Performance href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/us-senate\/index.html\">Senate<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 and used his speech to declare global warming as \u2018our most existential challenge\u2019 \u2013 just hours after&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/rishi-sunak\/index.html\">Rishi Sunak<\/a>&nbsp;put the brakes on Net Zero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The monarch spoke of the close friendship between the UK and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/france\/index.html\">France<\/a>&nbsp;but focused on tackling&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/climate_change_global_warming\/index.html\">climate change<\/a>, calling for a new \u2018entente cordiale\u2019 specifically to \u2018tackle the global
