The latest fake news from the BBC:<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to BBC weatherman Simon King:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCanada, the US and Mexico often get extreme weather. We\u2019ve seen heatwaves, droughts and wildfires in recent years.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And with the 2026 World Cup being held in these locations, how much of a problem is extreme weather going to be?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He uses as his example this year\u2019s heatwave in Texas, which he falsely claims to be \u201crecord breaking\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Far from being record breaking, temperatures of 38C (100F) in Dallas occur virtually every summer. The record there is 112F set in 1980.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And although the heatwave lasted a bit longer than normal this summer with 43 days of 100F or more, there is nothing unusual about this either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In neither city is there any evidence that temperatures are increasing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe Simon King should go and check what the weather was like the last time the US hosted the World Cup in 1994:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
