An assumption-based assessment approach allows estimates a net Antarctic ice shelf change to go from a +661 Gt mass gain to a -20,028 Gt mass loss over this 11-year period (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/notrickszone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/Antarctic-ice-shelves-gained-mass-per-observations-but-assumptions-over-estimate-losses-by-a-factor-of-30-Andreason-2023.jpg\">Andreasen et al., 2023<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a more than 30-fold distortion of what actual observations indicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cCorrecting\u201d stable sea levels to show accelerated rise<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few years ago&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.klimarealistene.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-s2.0-S0964569116300205-main.pdf\"><strong>Australian scientists exposed a similar assumption-based assessment approach<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;in estimating trends in global sea level change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to long-term global tide gauge data (from the 100 tide gauges with more than 80 years of continuous data), sea levels have been gradually rising at rates of about +0.25 mm\/year with no perceptible acceleration since the early 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, when satellite altimeters were originally deployed in the 1990s to early 2000s they consistently did \u201cnot show any sea level rise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A lack of sea level rise didn\u2019t advance the narrative, of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So instead of reporting on what the actual satellite observations showed, arbitrary, subjective assumptions were employed to \u201ccorrect\u201d the data to show sea levels have been rising at rates of 3.2 mm\/year instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GMSL satellite altimeter data showed no rising trend for the first 5 years of the record. The first 5 years were then \u201ccorrected\u201d to show +2.3 mm\/year of sea level rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The GRACE satellite data showed the was a -0.12 mm\/yr sea level fall trend from 2003 to 2008. After \u201ccorrection,\u201d this was changed to a +1.9 mm\/year sea level rising trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201c\u2026the untampered results, not showing the desired sea level rise, were replaced by \u2018corrected\u2019 results. [U]ntil August 4, 2011 the European Space Agency\u2019s Envisat satellite was showing less than +0.976 mm\/year sea level rise since 2004. And, despite the \u201caccelerating sea level rise\u201d claims, the 1984-2019 satellite data show coastlines have been&nbsp;<em>expanding<\/em>&nbsp;by a net +0.26 m\/year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Mao and colleagues, Australia\u2019s coasts have been growing at a rate of +0.10 m\/year since 1984. Asia\u2019s coasts have been expanding +0.64 m\/year. Europe\u2019s coasts are accreting +0.45 m\/year. They may be fake.<\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A stable
