WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2014 The White House National Climate Task Force reported today that\u00a0NASA scientists have discovered a mysterious spike in global warming every year between June and August.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re completely stumped,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0said Bob McMahon, White House National Climate Task Force spokesman. \u201cOur satellite data confirms global warming keeps happening in America during these same months, almost like clockwork.\u00a0Even stranger, global warming seems to hit South America in different months. Bizarre.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. McMahon went on to detail\u00a0evidence of a massive rise in temperature occurring every year<\/strong>\u00a0between the months of June and August, noting that in some places\u00a0temperatures even reach over 100<\/strong>\u00a0degrees. \u201cThis year\u2019s global warming is shaping up to be just as hot as last year\u2019s,\u201d said Mr. McMahon. \u201cWe don\u2019t know\u00a0why climate change strikes during these months<\/strong>, but we suspect it\u2019s all the\u00a0extra carbon emissions from people using air conditioning.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the compelling evidence,\u00a0some scientists still disputed Mr. McMahon\u2019s findings<\/strong>. \u201cIf the globe gets so hot every August, why am I sitting here wearing a sweater?\u201d asked climate scientist Rachel Evanson. \u201cAnd why am I having my husband carry around an extra coat and scarf? Ugh,\u00a0it\u2019s freezing in here.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At publishing time, the Climate Task Force had decided to take action by making Google Maps tell people it\u2019s really hot outside whenever they ask for directions.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
