href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/met-office\"><em>Met Office<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0predicted sizzling\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/temperatures\"><em>temperatures<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0with some areas also expected to see windy disruptions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>As temperatures have been rising this week, the forecaster predicted the mercury to peak around 28C on Friday before unsettled weather returned.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
