Ten days ago a group of experts Net Zero Australia have estimated the cost of\u00a0<strong>getting to a 43 % reduction by 2030<\/strong>, as I said already legislated, will cost us\u00a0<strong>1.5 trillion dollars<\/strong>, that\u2019s trillion with a t, not billion. These are experts from Melbourne, Queensland University and Princeton in the US. But we still need power 24\/7<strong>.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0);color:#e81515\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Not only is this climate Crusade ruinously expensive,<br>but it\u2019s also going to be Mission Impossible.<\/mark><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Australians might be broadly in favor of cutting emissions to\u00a0<strong>do something about climate change<\/strong>, but it\u2019s\u00a0<strong>far from clear that we\u2019re ready to pay<\/strong>\u00a0all the extra costs. And as you\u2019ll hear a little later on the show,\u00a0<strong>Australian Farmers<\/strong>\u00a0well you\u2019re on the carpet despite some of the\u00a0<strong>bribes being offered<\/strong>\u00a0up to two hundred thousand dollars per kilometer for individual land holders.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Now that\u2019s one of the reasons why the Hume link, just one of these new transmission lines is way behind schedule and already three billion dollars over budget. But without these new transmission lines, Hume Link in particular, well\u00a0<strong>Snowy 2.0 is<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>already years behind schedule and billions over budget. it just won\u2019t work<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>I\u2019ve been saying this for years, and you\u2019ve been saying it as well:\u00a0<strong>This is energy Madness.
