Williamson explains at NY Post\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/22\/climate-change-activists-have-failed-to-score-public-support\/\"><strong>Why climate change activists have failed to score public support.\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Excerpts in italics with my bolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>We are hearing even more than usual about climate change this summer and that is not surprising \u2014 not with dog-days news cycles driven by record-setting heat waves, torrential rains and widespread Canadian wildfires.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Some climate activists think we are not hearing enough about the issue: Writing in The\u00a0<strong>Guardian, columnist<\/strong>\u00a0Jonathan Freedland insists\u00a0<strong>that the problem is one of marketing<\/strong>. \u201cThe climate movement has devoted relatively few resources to reaching or persuading the public,\u201d he writes,\u00a0<strong>preposterously<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>He quotes progressive p.r. man David Fenton \u2014 \u201cWe\u2019re in a propaganda war, but only one side is on the battlefield\u201d \u2014 and cites former United Nations climate grandee<strong>\u00a0Christiana Figueres, who claims \u201cthe climate community has recoiled from marketing.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0Why? Because, Figueres says, it is \u201csort of tainted. It\u2019s icky. You know, \u2018We\u2019re too good for marketing. We\u2019re too righteous\u2019. . .
